Nashville Door Services didn’t start in Nashville at all. We first broke into the industry in southern New England. Beginning in 1994, we installed and serviced garage doors for home and business owners across the Northeast. That included working for the second largest garage door company in the region.
The first decade was enriching. We learned in all different areas of the garage door business, honing our skills and knowledge. We eventually parlayed our work experience into door-related carpentry and began building custom wooden carriage-style doors in our basement as a part-time business.
Within five months, that part-time business became a full-time one. We had developed a reputation for quality work, and word spread quickly about our cutting-edge doors. We continued building high-quality custom doors for 13 years, outfitting multi-million dollar properties for some of the most well-respected builders in New England.
Our garage doors were the highest tier of quality. Builders would only install them in homes that were worth more than $2.5 million. Each door had personalized craftsmanship and character that matched the home’s personality and aesthetic.
Recently, we relocated the business to Nashville, where we quickly discovered that the garage door industry here is much different from that in New England.
Too many companies in Tennessee have settled for low-quality doors—so low that we couldn’t believe that companies were even manufacturing them in the first place. Several installers told us that we’d get used to removing and installing these low-quality products, but we didn’t.
This flashpoint inspired us. We wanted to create garage doors that people could be proud of and that showcased the uniqueness of their home, something that didn’t currently exist on the local market. That’s when we re-opened as Nashville Door Services.
